Reviews of The Best Pizza Ovens
1. Whatโs in My Kitchen: Breville Smart Oven Pizzaiolo Pizza Oven

We love our Breville indoor pizza oven and itโs what I use to make my Perfect Pizza every time!ย It makes the BEST pizza ever, and Iโm always impressed by this small little pizza oven. Itโs easy to use, and in just a couple of minutes, Iโve got a piping hot, wood-fired pizza that looks straight out of a restaurant. But donโt worry, you can also use it to heat up a frozen pie or bake a thin crust to perfection, since it has a few different settings for that. And while youโll need to make some room for it, the oven isnโt as clunky and large as you might expect for this type of device.ย
Itโs definitely a splurge, but if you make pizza a lot, I know you will LOVE it. It would also make a great gift for pizza lovers!

2. My Favorite Outdoor Pizza Oven: Ooni Koda 16 Pizza Oven

If you want to turn your patio into the ultimate pizza making palace, I also recommend this Ooni outdoor oven. You can use natural or propane gas to get it going, and it has a built-in โflame keeperโ to make sure the fire surrounds and is aimed toward the pizza in the center for an even bake. I also like that the open front means I can see into the oven and check to make sure my Caprese Pizza isnโt burning!ย
You might end up storing it during the winter as we do, but if youโre just as much of a pizza fanatic as we are, it will be worth the investment for 3 out of 4 seasons.
The Specs:
- Temperature range: Up to 950ยฐF
- Heat source: Gas
- Pizza size: 16 inches
- Dimensions: 25 x 23.2 x 14.7 inches
- Weight: 39.2 pounds
What I Like:
- Easy to set up
- Easy to clean
- Foldable legs make it easy to store
What I Donโt Like:

3. Best Splurge Pizza Oven: Gozney Dome

I know this Gozney pizza oven is QUITE an investment for something you donโt NEED, but if youโre willing to splurge and want to make the best pizza for entertaining, this will have you cooking like a chef in your own backyard. It can also work indoors in a well-ventilated space with gas fuel. I love that you have the option to use it with wood for that authentic wood-fired pizza flavor. You can also use it like a grill to smoke meat, roast veggies, and bake and steam bread.ย
Gozney also sells a bunch of accessories, like a pizza server and a dough cutter, to make your oven even more souped-up.
The Specs:
- Temperature range: Up to 950ยฐF
- Heat source: Gas or wood
- Pizza size: 16 inches
- Dimensions: 26 x 24.8 x 28.8 inches
- Weight: 128 pounds
What I Donโt Like:
- Duel fuelย
- Sleek design
- Cooks fast
- Works indoor and outdoor
What I Donโt Like:
- Very heavy
- Accessories are sold separately

4. Best Budget Pizza Oven: Presto Pizzazz Plus

If youโre hesitant to spend a lot on a single use appliance, or you want a pizza oven that doesnโt take up a lot of space, the Presto Pizzazz Plus is a great choice and under $100. All you have to do is pop your pizza onto the rotating tray and set the timer to get it cookingโno preheating! You can use it for frozen pies, too, and it gives it a nice, even bake thanks to the constant rotation and both top and bottom heating elements. Itโs not as bulky as some other pizza oven, so you can store it away pretty easily, too.ย
But the biggest downside to the Presto Pizzazz Plus is that the top and bottom heating elements are at different temperatures (the bottom is only at 350 degrees F), so if you like a crispy crust, youโll be a bit disappointed with this oven.ย
The Specs:
- Temperature range: Bottom: 350 degrees, Top: 500 degreesย
- Heat source: Electric
- Pizza size: 12 inches
- Dimensions: 13.4 x 18.7 x 8.9 inches
- Weight: 6 pounds
What I Like:
- Simple to useโno preheating necessary
- Easy to clean
- Easy to store
What I Donโt Like:
- Design looks cheap
- Takes longer to cook
- Doesnโt produce crisp crustย
What Others Are Saying:
People and Good Housekeeping both named the Presto Pizzazz Plus as the bestย budget pick, and it has a 4.7-star rating from more than 19,300 reviewers on Amazon.

5. Best Indoor Pizza Oven: Cuisinart Indoor Pizza Oven

Some ovens use gas that makes them unsafe for indoor use, but this one is both safe and makes a good โza! This Cuisinart oven has a similar-looking design to the Breville I love, but itโll save you some money. Some reviewers say that it can take awhile to heat up to its max temperature of 700 degrees F, so you want to turn it on ahead of your meal prep. Once itโs going though, itโll cook pizzas fast and evenly. Another plus: It doesnโt take up as much space as some other bulky indoor pizza ovens.ย
The Specs:
- Temperature range: Up to 700ยฐF
- Heat source: Electric
- Pizza size: 12 inches
- Dimensions: 17.5 x 19 x 11 inches
- Weight: 25 pounds
What I Like:
- Lightweight, compact design
- Cooks quicklyย
- Even heat distributionย
What I Donโt Like:
- Takes longer to preheat
- Some reviewers say itโs hard to clean
What Others Are Saying:
The Cuisinart Indoor Pizza Oven received good reviews from Reviewed and Food & Wine, and Good Housekeeping named it the best compact option.

Other Pizza Ovens to Consider
Solo Stove Pi Dual Fuel Pizza Oven
Youโll find great reviews of this oven on Forbes, Food Network, and Spruce Eats, so itโs definitely worth mentioning as another outdoor option. Like the Gozney, it can be gas- or wood-fired, but it has a much lighter design at 25 pounds. Itโs a bit newer on the market and you might prefer the slimmer design of an Ooni oven, but otherwise, this a great pick. The Solo Stove Pi Dual Fuel Pizza Oven is available at Solo Stove for $389.99.
Ooni Fyra 12 Pizza Oven
If youโre sold on the Ooni, this is a smaller version that makes 12-inch pies, and itโs a little more affordable. So as long as you donโt care about the size of your pizza (you can always make more!), this is a great one to have. The Ooni Fyra 12 Pizza Oven is available at Williams Sonoma for $349.95.
Why You Can Trust Me
Hi, Iโm Maria, the founder of Two Peas and Their Pod! My kitchen is one of my happy placesโIโm always experimenting with new recipes and baking up tasty treats. And one dish Iโm always making? Homemade pizza! Itโs easy to whip up, especially when you have a great pizza oven, and itโs ALWAYS a crowd-pleaser.

Before putting together my list, I researched the best pizza ovens and picked ones that shoppers swear by. Of course, I also included my favorites! No matter what budget you have, or if you want indoor or outdoor, Iโm positive you can find a pizza oven youโll love!
Everything to Know Before Buying a Pizza Oven

What to Consider Before Buying a Pizza Oven
Indoor vs outdoor: The first thing you should decide on is if you want an indoor or outdoor oven because most canโt be both. Indoor ovens are usually electric powered which bakes great, while a propane or wood fire oven for the outdoors will make a crispier pizza with that smokey restaurant flavor. Both are great, but unless you live in a warm climate, you might not get as much use out of an outdoor one.
Fuel source: Pizza ovens can be gas, wood, or electric. Some gas options can also use wood, too. Indoor options are typically electric and outdoor are typically gas or wood, so thatโll most likely decide what fuel source you use.
Size: The size of the pizza oven matters most if youโre using an indoor oven because you need to be able to store it or be comfortable with it taking up counter space. But another consideration is what size pizza the oven can hold (typically up to 12 or up to 16 inches).ย
Whatโs the Best Way to Reheat Pizza?
We all know how soggy leftover pizza gets when you microwave it. So, if you ask me, the best way to reheat it is to pop it in the oven. While you might put your pizza oven on its maximum temperature to cook it from scratch, you can preheat it to a lower temp of about 425 degrees F. You can also use your traditional oven and put your pizza on a baking sheet. Once itโs preheated, put it in for about 8 minutes, keeping tabs on it along the way to make sure it doesnโt burn and taking it out when itโs warm and bubbly.
How Long Does It Take to Cook Pizza in the Oven?
In an oven preheated to 425 degrees F, pizza takes about 20 minutes to bake from scratch. It depends on the size and thickness of your pizza, though. You should make sure to check on it every few minutes after the first 10 minutes of baking.
What Temperature Is a Pizza Oven?ย
Every pizza oven has a maximum temperature (the highest one on this list is 950 degrees F). However, I find that anywhere from 425 to 500 degrees F is hot enough to make great pizza!
What Else Can You Cook in a Pizza Oven?ย
You can cook a varietyย of different foods in a pizza oven! You can roast veggies or meats, bake bread, and more. And outdoor ovens can be used in place of a traditional grill. Just make sure you follow the instructions on your specific pizza oven before doing so.
